Reservations at Río Magnolia
We recommend staying at least 3 nights at Rio Magnolia due to our fairly remote location and given the variety of things to see and do.
A full breakfast is included in the rates. Lunch is from a small menu and dinner is a 3 course fixed meal starting with complimentary sunset appetizers. Also, please take time to check out our special Packages...Romance...Adventure...Birding!
We also can arrange transportation to and from the San Jose airport or other hotels.

Río Magnolia Policies
Payment - Since our property is remote and filled by reservations only, a guarantee deposit per room ($150-$200) is due to confirm the reservation. Full payment is required 30 days prior to reservation date. Payment can be made via PayPal as we do not accept credit cards directly.
Cancellation - A cancellation forfeits the first night deposit and if cancelled within 29 days or less prior to the arrival date, 100% of the reservation will be charged. ***
***Please note that this is our policy but in most cases we can change the dates in the case of illness or other unforeseen events. It is more difficult when we are fully booked and have had to turn away guests.
Children - Children over 8 years old have a great time at Rio Magnolia as do their parents. We have found that the Lodge is not suitable for young children as we are located in the middle of a rainforest, on a steep hill with a deep pool. The Lodge is small offering our guests a tranquil and relaxing holiday.
Holiday Seasons - During Christmas and New Years (December 20 to January 5) and Easter week, the minimum stay at the Lodge is 3 nights.

Description
The villa is self-contained and is suitable for a couple who like to have room to relax and enjoy complete privacy but, at the same time, have access to all of the facilities offered by Rio Magnolia Lodge. It consists of a single bedroom with king-size bed, a living room with fully equipped kitchen and a tropical bathroom with glass-walled shower looking out on a small, private garden. The villa is surrounded by covered terraces and a beautiful stone patio, which serves also as a dining room. Past a foreground of lawn and charming flower-beds, and over rolling hills and valleys, one gets a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. The villa itself is of Balinese design, offering a happy combination of concrete-stucco and rich, local woods. The rooms have cathedral ceilings, lit by high windows, and are surrounded by large, sliding glass doors. The living room has a fireplace and TV/ DVD player, and there is a gas barbeque on the terrace.
Amapola cottage is only 200 metres from the Lodge, easily accessed by foot or by four-wheel drive vehicle. Guests of the villa can enjoy the Lodge swimming pool, bar and hiking trails. Meals are available at the Lodge at an additional cost on 24 hour prior request. Guests who plan to cook their own meals are advised to provide their own 4 wheel drive vehicle as the closest grocery store (small) is 6 km from the Lodge. This will be handy also for visits to the local attractions. The Lodge can provide information on tours and beaches in the area and transportation to beaches and activities. Transportation to and from the airport can also be arranged through the Lodge.
Rates
The villa may be rented on a weekly basis from April 7, 2012 to January 5, 2012, excluding October 27 to December 1, when the Lodge is closed.
The Green Season weekly rate from April 7 to October 27, $800/week
The weekly rate for December 1-15, $1000/week
The weekly rate for Holiday Season, December 15 to January 5, $1200/week
These rates are for 2 people and include light cleaning but do not include meals or Costa Rican tax of 13%.
