The Lodge

Overview

The backcountry road leading to Río Magnolia winds through the lush greenery of small farms, old forests, and across mountain rivers. The grand wood and stone main lodge, Magnolia House, is set against the backdrop of towering jungle peaks, green valleys and the vast Pacific Ocean. Upon arrival, you will be overwhelmed by your surroundings.

Río Magnolia Ecolodge is an exciting combination of luxurious accommodations set in an eco-touristic environment. Walkways through gardens and jungle join the main lodge to the exotic wood cabin, the Balinese-style villa, the horse stables and other facilities. In the foreground of the main lodge sits the inviting infinity pool which features a swim-up bar and terraces for sunning and relaxation.

With regards to dining, Magnolia House offers an exquisite combination of International and Costa Rican cuisine. The adjoining bar and terraces provide the perfect place to meet other guests and share tales of the day's adventures or simply relax with a book from our library. Fresh fruit juices, a complete bar as well as a wine list are available.

Power is provided to the Lodge by a small hydro electric plant located on the property. The Lodge is not air-conditioned as ceiling fans circulate the fresh mountain air.
